100% Whole Grain Hulless Barley Flour
Grown and milled on our own family farm in Delta Junction, this centuries-old grain contains fiber, vitamins, and minerals. It is slim on fat and cholesterol free. Available in 2 lbs, 5 lbs, 25 lbs.
*To Use: When making raised breads or rolls, use 1/3 barley flour, 1/3 whole wheat flour, and 1/3 white flour. The bread turns out nice and soft, and the barley gives it a slightly nutty flavor. Barley holds more moisture than other flours, so be very careful to not overcook your creations.
*Non-Yeast Breads and Other Recipes: In most cases, when making baked goods that do not call for yeast (cookies, pancakes, quickbreads), you can substitute barley flour for 100% of the regular flour with amazing results. You can also use barley flour to thicken and give a flavor boost to gravies and other sauces, such as roux.
