HAMBURGER BUNS

Add some great flavor to your next BBQ!

YIELDS: 12 buns

INGREDIENTS

 

SPONGE:

  • 2 TBSP active dry yeast

  • 1 cup warm water (plus 2 TBSP)

  • 3 TBSP oil

  • 3 TBSP sugar

 

DOUGH: 

  • 1 egg

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 2 1/2- 3 cups bread flour

  • 1/2 cup AFC barley flour

DIRECTIONS

​

  1. ​In a mixing bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water.

  2. Add oil and sugar, and let stand for 5 minutes.

  3. Add the egg, salt, and enough flour to form a soft dough.

  4. Turn onto a floured surface and knead until smooth and elastic, about 3-5 minutes. 

  5. Divide into 12 pieces and shape each into a ball, and flatten them to the desired size. Place on a greased baking sheet. 

  6. Cover and let rise for 15 minutes. 

  7. Bake at 425°F for 8-12 minutes, or until golden brown. 

  8. Cool on wire rack.​ Enjoy!
