Home Grown and Family Owned

Picture
Alaska Flour Company is a family owned and operated flour mill located in Delta Junction, Alaska. We are committed to increasing our food independence in Alaska. In fact, that is why we decided to start a flour mill.

Alaska is at the end of a very long transportation chain. Over 95% of our food is shipped from the lower 48 and disruptions to our transportation occur on a regular basis. After observing the difficulty of getting food to the victims of Hurricane Katrina a few years ago, we chose to make locally grown food more available to Alaskans.

It takes time to grow an industry and if it is to be available when we need it, we must support its growth. As Alaskans, we hope you will support our efforts to provide you with locally grown food We firmly believe that food security cannot be achieved without agriculture.

We mill Sunshine hulless barley grown on our own farm. Our flour is 100% whole grain flour with nothing added and nothing taken away. Four generations of Wrigleys work on the farm now. Our grains are USDA inspected and the flour mill is DEC inspected. We strive to be friendly to our environment by using Best Management Practices including no-till planting to improve the soil and save fuel. We soil sample so we know and apply exactly what nutrients the crop needs to be healthy.

Our flour mill specializes in quality, artisan, stoneground flour.
We also sell a hot breakfast cereal called Cream of Barley. Our flour and cereal are 100% whole grain with nothing added and nothing taken away. You can order them on line by clicking our online store link. Our healthy foods are also available at the following locations.
